Central Car Wash is a car wash in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is listed at 1814 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418, which places it among the local businesses of Minneapolis that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
In Minneapolis, washes are busiest on sunny weekends and the first dry day after rain or a snowstorm, when lines back onto the street; weekday mornings are the quietest. Across Minnesota, expect a basic exterior wash to cost about what a fast-food meal does, with wax, tire shine and undercarriage rinse sold as tiers above it. Self-service bays are the cheapest way to clean a truck bed, a muddy off-roader or a vehicle that will not fit a tunnel, and many run around the clock. Check the listing for the wash type, hours, free vacuums, unlimited plans and whether the site accepts cards or app payments, then call ahead in freezing weather, when tunnels close.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 amβ6 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Central Car Wash at (612) 781-6924; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is centralcarwash.net, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
With 3.8 out of 5 on Google from 606 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for car washes in Minneapolis. Recent reviews are the best guide.
Minneapolis is in Minnesota, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Minneapolis is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Minnesota's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I used to be a frequent customer of Central Car Wash, but have stayed away due to the decrease in wash quality and value over the past several years that many others have mentioned in reviews. Today I gave them another chance, and purchased the highest level wash along with a few add-ons for my vehicle, and the wash quality was below expectations. It was evident that standard areas inside the car were not sufficiently vacuumed, or wiped down/dusted. Real basic service stuff clearly ignored. I also do not recommend this car wash, and will not be back unless there are clear and obvious changes to ownership or service quality found through reviews in Google and Yelp (which are the only options since the Central Car Wash website does not work, and has not been functional for quite some time). I will instead target other local full service car washes (e.g. Mister) as well as other options (e.g. Tsunami) that offer the "finishing tools" to perform the final step myself (vacuum, wipe down dashboard, etc), and clearly share their pricing tiers through their website.

I paid almost $40 for a car wash and honestly felt like I got barely anything for what I paid. They did not properly clean the inside of my car. They didnβt vacuum the seats, didnβt wash the mats, didnβt clean the dashboard, and didnβt clean the cup holders. The vacuuming that they did was very minimal, and it felt like they just quickly vacuumed and washed the outside. On top of that, they wanted me to pay extra for cleaning that I expected to be included with the service I had already paid almost $40 for. I called to complain because I was extremely disappointed and they were very dismissive. I literally had to take my car to a completely different car wash the same day and pay for another cleaning because the first place did not properly clean my car. For almost $40, I expected a much better job. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

Central car wash used to be the best in the area. I was willing to drive over from Maple Grove. I donβt know if there was a change in ownership or what, the quality has drastically changed. I was very disappointed the last two times I came in. I will let the photos speak for themselves. Sadly you lost a long time customer.

Paid $40 for the top wash service and it was absolutely horrible. The problem when trying to support the small businesses is that they sometimes give horrible service. I promise if the Waterwerks in Golden Valley wasnβt closed for maintenance I would have never come to this place. Guarantee Iβll never return. I could have simply went through the wash at any gas station for this. Add: 2/22/26 This company is horrible. Like I said, they didnβt even vacuum my car. Water Werks has always done a fantastic job. The services they are offering at Central Car Wash they do NOT actually do. The cup holder was not even cleaned as you can clearly see from the photos. The place smells like mold and they are overcharging for an exterior wash while claiming to offer a full service. Other reviews note the same thing. I called several times no answer. Poor business. Poor service. Over priced. False advertisement. Even if Water Werks is changing their business approach I guarantee theyβll still be 10x better than Central Car Wash. Your prices need to reflect what you offer which is water on the outside of the vehicle nothing more and stop charging $40 for services youβre not doing.

Anyone who gives this place more than a one β, something is missing. I went there yesterday and paid for supreme (βwhich is their most expensive β), once they were done, it was a disaster. Honestly even my 4 year old son was shocked βhe said, mummy, our car is still dirty!β So I went back to the lady at window and all she said was βI am sorry there is nothing I can do β. Another customer lady heard my complaint and said βshe was there last week and her car was still dirty hence the reason she brought backβ. She paid double for something that they should have fixed. So I went back out to the car, I took the mats out because they didnβt not shake them at all. The one gentleman was very kind enough to do the work the people at the beginning should have done before the car was washed. And then their was another gentleman who told me, βoh, this is NOT A DETAILING SHOP ITS A CAR WASH,β I held my tongue and took a blue cloth and started wiping my car down. What a waste of $40 and time. This place, the workers donβt their back into work, they just wipe and ready for the next . There a lady working their and I watched her wipe cars down, and I can only say, no wonder they donβt have good b
